About the Downtown Denver Residents Organization

“The purpose of the Downtown Denver Residents Organization is to both to preserve and enhance the quality of life for residents in and around downtown Denver.”

The Downtown Denver Residents Organization (“DDRO”) operates on many fronts in its effort to fulfill its mission statement. The DDRO has identified four key aspects that are critical to meeting its goals of preserving and enhancing the quality of life in downtown Denver.

1. Communication:

The DDRO aspires to be a clear voice for downtown residents in the pursuit of balance between civic, social and economic influence. We reach out to members through a regular calendar of open forums addressing issues that are relevant to downtown residents. The DDRO communicates effectively through our new broadcast email system. Members receive pertinent information and updates via email. DDRO also maintains a growing list of building liaisons that assist in publicizing the organizations efforts, in addition to conveying their respective residents’ concerns. The DDRO also maintains a web site (DDRO.org) that provides information about future events and provides visitors an opportunity to share their views of downtown living.

2. Community Affairs:

The DDRO has a number of active committees addressing ongoing aspects of downtown living. These aspects include safety, noise control, beautification, transportation, arts/culture and charitable programs.

3. Membership and Resource Development:

The DDRO continually adds to its list of members, liaisons and resources to ensure that downtown residents’ interests are being correctly represented to maximize DDRO’s efficiency in representing those interests.

4. Fund Raising:

The DDRO actively raises funds through events and solicitation. Money or services earned and donated are used to cover minimal operating expense, publicize issues that affect its constituency, promote and host events pertinent to downtown living, and endorse new elements of downtown living that are deemed to be worthy.
